Public clinics in Singapore

Each urgent public hospital is in the “outbreak response mode,” as in Singapore defenses are on rising in China against a mysterious virus. All patients with fever and travel history have been screened and isolated from the emergency department. Both doctors in general practice were told what to look for and were given a call number if there were suspicious patients.

Any physician call activates an ambulance so that the suspected patient can be taken straight to the NCID. It is to be canceled that the virus spread in the bud. The ambulance is cleaned properly before it is used again.

It takes between 4 and 8 hours for the laboratory to assess whether a coronavirus is contaminated. If the test is positive, it will be done to confirm that the new bug is genetic sequencing. It takes 24 hours to do so. But there are no chances for Singapore. All healthcare personnel who deal with suspected cases are well protected by PPEs and supported air-purifying airborne respirators so that any possible virus can be filtered.

In the 14-day period following the outbreak of the disease, the Singapore Ministry of Health broadened the concept of suspected cases and now included anyone with pneumonia who had been to China–not only Wuhan. A suspicious case is also being treated for anyone with a respiratory infection who has been to a hospital in China within a quaint week.

All patients are screened and fever and travel history are isolated in emergency departments. The patients will be placed in special, negative pressure insulation rooms at the National Center for Infectious Diseases, where air only enters and is not released into rooms. Physicians in general practice were told what to look for and a telephone number if suspicious patients exist.
